Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Raurimu Ave School upholds the status of Māori as tangata whenua and is committed to honouring the principles of partnership, protection and participation and rangatiratanga in He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni (The Declaration of Independence of the United Tribes of New Zealand) and Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi).
This commitment is demonstrated through the New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and the school curriculum. Implementation of these curricula ensure bi-cultural and total immersion learning pathways occur in our school.
The school curriculum endorses a partnership between our community of students and whānau and local hapū and iwi. This offers a meaningful connection for all students with their own identity and citizenship as well as that of others and the wider community.
